I go to a lot of music shows, it’s my favorite thing in the world. It doesn’t matter who’s playing, as long as there is a stage, a few instruments, and a tune to be played, I’m in there like swimwear. But there’s one genre that stands out from the rest, and it doesn’t come close: Hardcore Punk.
There’s nothing better to me then being in a crowd of Crusters, Rockers, Rejects, Freaks, Outcasts, Sideliners, Anarchists, and Agents of Chaos, all more than happy to get into some healthy recreational moshpit violence and crowd-surf their troubles away. I’ve often gone into these Slam Bamboo sessions looking to combine my love of photography and my insatiable need for blastbeats, breakdowns, and bass, to get the perfect camera shots.
Here are my favorites, an homage to music counterculture.
