GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERNSHIP
In the immediate aftermath of early 2020 during the COVID lock-down, I found creative and professional success with landing a rare in-person internship at SignWorks New England. The Epsom, New Hampshire based company is a mom-and-pop operation run by Keith and Michelle Matheson out of a small shop but with enormous customer outreach and impeccable service. I was hired as a Graphic Design Intern to assist the family art-wise. Keith specialized in the printing and physical installation of Vinyl Graphics, and Michelle was the brains behind the marketing, sales, and customer interaction.
As an intern, I oversaw the development of the digital design, planning and layout of installation of the graphics onto vehicles, signs, and assorted other mediums. Aside from my standard work of production of signage for company fleets, I also created: advertising commercials for external companies, internal branding for SignWorks, MotorSports graphics for local Race Teams, and even branding assets for NASCAR-sponsored events at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
I enjoyed my role as a Graphic Design Intern with SignWorks immensely. It benefitted the development of my career as a Graphic Designer a great amount, and I’m proud to be able to see my work in the world. Whenever I drive by a former client’s office or vehicle, it’s truly rewarding and is a nice reminder that I chose the right path in the professional landscape.

Noah worked under my supervision, I found him to be a very personable professional in all his interactions with staff and customers. He created designs for a wide range of projects to include graphics for buildings, vehicles, apparel, signage, and print. He arrived early every day with the tools required to tackle the project at hand.
We were impressed by all Noah could produce with only his iPhone and MacBook Pro, to include three 30 second promotional videos. He never missed a day of work and was flexible on those days we needed him beyond quitting time.
