MCCormick SPices
subscription service Box
Existing brand, New packaging SET
A conceptualized monthly-themed subscription box packaging set for McCormick Spices, featuring new flavors with custom labels, and branded kitchenware.
The project aims to incorporate an existing company’s brand that currently doesn’t offer a merchandise kit or mail-order box, and also has a loosely defined Brand Standards guide. McCormick Spices presents a extremely minimal assets library on their website for advertising companies to work with, and has only a blurb no longer than 2 paragraphs detailing the proper usage of their logomark and identifiers.
My envisioning for McCormick “Spices Subscription Service” includes a monthly-themed flavor palette for all three of the spices included, often times based on regional favorites or seasonal holidays. The featured month for this product is February, and is centered around a Louisiana favorite: Mardi Gras. The title theme is “Bayou Medley”, featuring three custom spices, (Rajun Cajun, Gumbo Gris-Gris, and Beignet A La Vie).
The exterior of the box remains consistent from month-to-month, and the inside labels change to retain the theme of the flavor.
Ideally, the target audience for the service is 17-28 year olds interested in learning how to cook, who may have tried and enjoyed the food in other meal kit services, but found them to be bland, and wants to elevate their culinary game using the industry’s finest seasonings to compliment their dishes.
Included in every month’s box, regardless of theme, is a set of kitchenware collateral that will prove useful to the buyer. Customers will love our hand painted wooden spoon and spatula combo that have been laser-engraved with the McCormick logo, a McCormick pot holder to stay safe around the oven and stove, and a McCormick apron to make sure the food stays on the proper side of their shirt (the inside!)
